Frequently Asked Questions

Crystal Mountain is your base camp to northern Michigan, where you can visit places like Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, world-class wineries and breweries, the Michigan Legacy Art Park or just spend the day enjoying all Crystal Mountain has to offer.

However you choose to be in your element, Crystal Mountain’s priority will remain the safety of its staff and guests. Crystal Clean was developed as our commitment to safety and health, but has become part of our culture throughout the past year.

We strengthen that commitment to you now by continuing to plan for all contingencies and reimagining the Crystal Mountain experience for your safety, for your health and for your enjoyment.

We have developed our operations plan using industry best practices and state and local health recommendations. We abide by all public health orders. If you have questions that aren't addressed below, we welcome you to contact us.

What is your resort cleaning process? How are you addressing COVID-19 and sanitation efforts?

In its heightened and enhanced cleaning protocols, Crystal Mountain will be using the highest classification of disinfectants recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to treat known pathogens like COVID-19.

In guest rooms, Crystal Mountain has enhanced its detailed cleaning practices, requiring surfaces to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. While stay-over room cleaning has been suspended at this time, cleanings between guest stays will see an enhanced cleaning protocol, with extra caution taken for high-touch points like television remote controls, door handles, light switches, chairs, faucets, lamps and others.

In public spaces, Crystal Mountain has added to its already rigorous cleaning protocols, requiring surfaces to be treated with disinfectants. This cleaning will be done with increased frequency. If you see a bathroom closed, come back! It is likely closed for routine and thorough cleaning. We have added touchless hand sanitizers throughout the resort, at entrances and exits to our buildings.

How often will my room be cleaned?

Your room has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before you check in. Housekeeping service has been suspended so no one will enter your room once you check in. Please call the hotel operator at 888-968-7686 ext. 0 or dial 0 from your room phone if you need anything.

Do you offer daily housekeeping in my room?

In the interest of staff and guest safety, we are not offering daily housekeeping at this time. Please request trash pickup, towel and linen replacements or additional in-room amenities by calling our hotel operator at Ext. 0.

Crystal Mountain is aware that some jurisdictions allow qualifying citizens to obtain permits to carry concealed weapons, including handguns, on public property, except where expressly prohibited. These permits, however, do not automatically confer the right to carry concealed weapons on private property. The sole exception is for law enforcement officers whose official duties require carrying firearms.
